The WHS Theater Company will present a recent Broadway hit show, “The Adams Family” from November 17 to 19, 2022. The original cartoons of the show transitioned to a sitcom in the 1960s, and in 2010 it became a musical on broadway.
The WHS Theater Company chose this musical for many reasons such as its humor.
“It’s really funny and ‘The Adams Family’ obviously originated [as] a TV sitcom and the musical, I think, really taps into the comedy of that era of Tv sitcom” said director and drama teacher Anne Isaacs.
“The Adams family” is based on the bizarre and beloved characters created by Charles Addams in his cartoons for “The New Yorker” magazine. The original story finds the famously fearsome Addams Family put to the test when outsiders come to dinner, a night that will change the family forever.
November 17, 2022, is the free student night, senior Mackenzie Morong, playing Wednesday Adams shared the value of the live pit band of WHS students brings to the musical.
“[Students are] really going to enjoy the music in this show… we’ve got strings, drums, and brass,” Morong said.
The flyers about the play posted around school have a QR code through which students and faculty can purchase tickets. Besides the free student and faculty night, tickets for November 18 and 19 are $10 for students and people 65+, and $15 for all other adults.
