Former President Donald Trump is the only rational presidential candidate to support as he would be a beneficial asset to the U.S. He has very clearly outlined his opinions on abortion, border security, gun laws, and much more. I believe that Trump’s plan will be extremely effective, and the best plan to make our country the best it can be.
Immigration:
Trump’s plan to help the immigration problem is one of the best I’ve heard. Trump believes in a more aggressive but helpful way to reduce illegal immigrants from flooding across our borders.
“We will complete the Border Wall, shift massive portions of Federal Law Enforcement to Immigration Enforcement, and use advanced technology to monitor and secure the border,” Trump’s website states.
I believe that it is unfair for these immigrants to stay in the US without any repercussions, so I agree with Trump that we need to crack down and make it much harder to get into the U.S. in the first place.
“President Trump and the Republicans will reverse the Democrats’ destructive open borders policies that have allowed criminal gangs and illegal aliens from around the world to roam the United States without consequence,” Trump’s website states.
In a lot of cases, immigrants see other immigrants coming to the U.S., inspiring them to do it too, but Trump vows to stop that trend.
“We will end chain migration, and put American workers first,” Trump’s website states.
As his official platform makes clear, Trump has a complete plan to address the problems being created by rampant illegal immigration, and that is one reason I believe he should be returned to the White House.
Abortion:
In regards to women’s reproductive rights, the overturning of Roe v. Wade turned control of abortion laws back to individual states, which means that the will of the people in each state decides the law. But many states do not have any laws setting an end date at which a pregnancy can be terminated, and like Trump, I believe that each state should pass laws to avoid late term abortion.
“We will oppose Late Term Abortion, while supporting mothers and policies that advance Prenatal Care, access
to Birth Control, and IVF (fertility treatments),” Trump’s website states.
Harris’s plan broadly is to try to restore Roe v. Wade protection nationally, but as the president doesn’t have the power to do this unilaterally, her proposal is not realistic. Trump has said he would not support a national abortion ban, which is a much more realistic stand to take in relation to the current reality. Harris just seems to want to go back to the past.
Gun Control:
Trump does not talk a lot about gun laws on his website, but he and the Republican party plan to protect the Second Amendment, along with other constitutional rights.
Per the Republican Party Platform, they will “Defend our constitution, our bill of rights, and our fundamental freedoms. including freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right to keep and bear arms.”
I believe the right to bear arms is a constitutional guarantee that every American citizen should have. Traditionally, Democrats want to make gun laws more restrictive, which I believe to be unconstitutional. Harris claims she supports the second amendment, but she has also spoken about outlawing some types of weapons, making her claim of being pro-gun rights confusing.
In general, I believe that former President Trump would make a much better president than Harris because I support his well thought out policies and dedication to America. A good leader for our country should put the rights of Americans first, protect Constitutional rights, and not set unrealistic goals.
