Get ready for chills at Weston High School’s “Haunted Hollywood” on October 26, at 6:00pm. This beloved tradition transforms the school halls into a thrilling maze of scares, bringing together students and the greater community for a night of spooky fun.
The preparation for this event requires a lot of hard work which is always done by the current sophomores. The sophomores start prepping as early as September.
“This year’s theme is “Haunted Hollywood”, I think that the theme is going to be very exciting and interactive for our guests,” said sophomore class president Sam Whitworth. From ghostly movie stars to haunted film sets WHS will be filled with tons of scares.
Along with the haunted house, there will also be options for younger children including arts and crafts, face painting, graveyard walks and more.
“Face painting seems like it’s going to be a fun and interactive experience for some of the younger kids, and I am excited to help out,” said sophomore Avril Ocampo. This makes the overall experience of the haunted house an event that can be enjoyable for everyone.
Additionally, this year’s haunted house aims to raise money. With each entry ticket there will be a $13 per person entry fee, and a $40 entry fee for families. Tickets will be available on site. Additionally, you can use my school bucks to purchase the tickets ahead and skip the line!
“These donations will go towards the class of 27’s funds for things like class activities, and trips,” said Whitworh. Overall, this helps the class a lot, and creates opportunities for the class to plan exciting things in exchange for the hard work.
This longstanding tradition not only brings thrills and excitement but also helps foster a sense of community. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families and friends to come together, share in the excitement and create memories.
