Football games at Weston have long been known for their electric atmosphere, with packed stands, deafening cheers, and undeniable school spirit. During the spring, students are committed to bringing that same energy to boys lacrosse games.
“I really enjoy the spirit of our football games. It’s a great way to get everyone together,” senior Fielding Mayhugh said. “I would love to see that same energy be brought to the lacrosse games.”
As seniors enter their final quarter, they are making an effort to build community and boost spirit at boys lacrosse games and students across WHS are joining in.
“All sports teams at Weston need more school spirit,” junior Bella Fleming said. “The lacrosse team this year is definitely a great team to show our support for.”
The Cats are off to a strong start, coming off a 13-5 season in 2024 and setting their sights on the playoffs, kicking off their 2025 season with a dominant 16-5 win over Arlington Catholic on April 1.
Beyond their performance on the field, the team’s tight bond fuels their success.
“We can all fool around with each other but we also know when it’s time to lock in,” Junior Alex Palmer said.
With a talented roster, high expectations, and growing student support, the boys’ lacrosse team is poised for an exciting season. WHS is bringing the same school pride seen in the fall into the spring to make Weston’s sports just as electric.
